  11. please help i've just bought a mercury 040 board for my a3000

  18. 8mb zip (16chips) 80ns
  19. 2mb 70ns chip
  20. picasso 2 2mb 60ns
  21. 2hd 1 quantum 80mb 1 maxtor 120mb neither terminated both internal
  22. 1 zip drive external 1 2xcdrom nec210 last on chain terminated
  23. mercury '040 35mhz 16mb of ram (4 4mb 30pin sims)
  24. external dell hd floppy
  25. 3.1 roms and software(not softkicked)

  27. ok that aside here is the problem just bought the 040 and apon 
  28. instalation the 3000 ran fine except once i moved a window or tried to 
  29. change my prefs ect. the machine locked up, mouse would not move.
  30. ok, was told that becouse the ram on the 040 was 70ns that there was a 
  31. conflict so i pulled all the ram on the motherboard and the system booted up 
  32. only 
  33. to have the same problem. so then i was told to upgrade to rev 7 ramsey 
  34. well today i inserted the ramsey booted up only to find the system giving 
  35. me a red screen and not booting, i rechecked to make sure the chip was 
  36. inserted correctly (flat notch against flat corner) and found everything 
  37. ok. so is there anyone out there that can help me with this headache 
  38. (there is no one in my area that can help). thanks
